Hello again sports fans! Spring is finally here so that means two things: new sports for everyone and no more winter weather. Unfortunately for me, that also means buying birthday presents for my fellow sports fanatics. The online search was unbelievable. So, I’ve taken the liberty to lend a helping hand to all of you readers. I’ve composed my list of the top websites for sports fans of all shapes and sizes. Enjoy.
And the winners are…
Coverage
1.
http://sports.yahoo.com- A Yahoo! link found on the home page that will provide you with any score from any game in any league. This is the place for updates in players’ lives on and off the job. You’ll go here for team news and to dispel gossip. It’s like “Entertainment Weekly” for sports.
2.
www.real-sports.com- This website covers women in sports. I found this site very informative and viewer friendly. You can also find shopping links to zappos.com, fogdog.com and the Adidas store.
Overall
1.
www.espn.com- Home of the sports fan, this site is not for the faint at heart or the casual sports surfer. This site gives you the most incredible stats, to-the-minute coverage and spectacular shopping without ever having to leave your home or office. Secondly, it offers all the information you could ever want to know about Playmakers, including the 3-disc DVD collection of the entire first season.
2.
www.sportsline.com- This site is a direct link to all sports in the world of CBS sports. You’ll find excellent coverage, great on-site shopping and season predictions from Sportsline’s top writers. Plus, if you’re 18 or over, you can sign up for fantasy sports play which includes football, baseball, racing and hockey.
Shopping
1.
www.fogdog.com- A site for the diehard sports buff, fogdog is the place where all necessary shopping in the sports world is done. I found an extensive list of sports equipment and hard to find sports gear. They specialize in group sales and they have a gift center. On the site you’ll find health/fitness, apparel and fan shops. Besides, where else can you find a lesson on proper athletic shoe lacing?
2.
www.home-teams.com- Personally, this is my favorite site. This website has eliminated my shopping problems forever (or so I hope). Here you can purchase fan gear and paraphernalia from the NFL, MLB, Nascar, NBA, NHL and NCAA. You can even find the coveted McFarlane figurines. However, the highlight of this site is the Von Dutch trucker hats that come in almost every color combination imaginable.
