    During spring, many teens and college students went off for vacation with awesome tunes to listen to. Here’s the latest music releases and tour dates.

    Pop released some tunes to dance to. On March 1; Mark Ballas (pop) released his album, HurtLoveBox. On March 8; Dam Mantle (electro) released his album, First Wave. On March 15; Danish pop princess, Oh Land (art pop) released her new album, Oh Land. On March 22; Duran Duran (new wave) returned with a new album, All You Need Is Now. And also on March 22; James Blake (dub step electro) released an album, James Blake. March 29; pop legend, Britney Spears (pop) and the French wonder, YELLE (electro pop) released new albums; Femme Fatale and Safari Disco Club.

    Country had some gold coming out of the industry this spring. On March 1; Aaron Lewis (country) and Linda Eder (country) released Town Line and Now. On March 8; Sara Evans (country) and Riley Etheridge (Americana) released their new album, Stronger and Powder Keg. On March 15; Caitlin Rose (country) released her new album, Own Side Now.

     The rap culture had a couple of new ones including the long-awaited return of Chris Brown and a new Snoop Dogg album. On March 1; Marsha Ambrosius (hip hop) released her new album, Late Nights, Early Mornings. On March 8; Lupe Fiasco (rap) and Raekwon [Member of the Wu-Tang Clan] (hip hop) released their new albums, Lasers and Shaolin VS. Wu-Tang. On March 15; Dionne Warwick (R&B) returned with Only Trust Your Heart. On March 22; Chris Brown (R&B) returned with his new release, F.A.M.E. Also on March 22; Jennifer Hudson (R&B) and Gucci Mane (rap) released new albums, I Remember Me and The Return Of Mr. Zone 6. On March 29; Big Sean, Snoop Dogg, and Wiz Khalifa released some albums. Finally Famous, Doggumentary, and Rolling Papers.

     Indie had numerous albums this month. On March 1; DeVotchKa, Alexander, Eisley, Lykke Li, Papercuts, Rural Alberta Advantage, Those Dancing Days, Vanity Theft, Davila 666. and Lucinda Williams released albums. 100 Lovers, Alexander, The Valley, Wounded Rhymes, Fading Parade, Departing, Daydreamers and Nightmares, Get What You Came For, Tan Bajo, and Blessed. On March 7; Stricken City will release their album, Losing Colour. On March 8; Dinosaur Bones and Wye Oak released albums, My Divider and Civilian respectively. On March 15; Adebisi Shank, The Dodos, The Joy Formidable, Noah and the Whale, Robotanists, Cornershop and Telekinesis released albums. This Is the Second Album from a Band Called Adebisi Shank, No Color, the Big Roar, Last Night on Earth, Plans in Progress, Cornershop and the Double-O Groove and 12 Desperate Straight Lines. On March 22; The Strokes released an album, Angels. On March 29; Florence + the Machine, Gangpol & Mit, Generationals, Heidi Spencer and the Rare Birds, Mountain Goats, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Craft Spells, and Ten After Two will have album releases. Between Two Lungs (Live Version Release to Lungs), The 1000 Softcore Tourist People Club, Actor-Caster, Under Streetlight Glow, All Eternals Deck, Belong, Idle Labor, and Truth is…

    For world music, on March 15; A Hawk and A Hacksaw (Balkan traditional) released their new album, Cervantine. On March 22; Israeli sweetheart, Keren Ann (vocalist) released her new album, 101.

    Rock ‘N Roll had a huge wave of releases.  On March 1; Beady Eye (psychedelic) [members from Oasis], Dropkick Murphys (Celtic punk), Everyone Dies In Utah (punk), Forever the Sickest Kids (pop punk), Go Radio (alternative), Kopek (hard), and Ron Sexsmith (folk) released albums. Different Gear Still Speeding, Going Out In Style, Seeing Clearly, Forever the Sickest Kids, Lucky Street, White Collar Lies, and Long Player Late Bloomer. On March 8; Carol Bui (post-punk), Bruce Cockburn (folk), Dance Gavin Dance (post-hardcore), Avril Lavigne (pop punk), Parts & Labor (noise), R.E.M. (alternative), Kurt Vile (roots), and The Color Morale (Christian metal-core) released albums. Red Ship, Small Source of Comfort, Downtown Battle Mountain Pt.II, Goodbye Lullaby, Constant Future, Collapse Into Now, Smoke Ring For My Halo, and My Devil In Your Eyes.  On March 15; Travis Barker (punk) [drummer from Blink 182], Death Set (punk), J. Mascis (alternative) [guitarist to Dinosaur Jr.], New York Dolls (protopunk), Rise Against (melodic hardcore), Smoking Popes (pop punk), The Boom Bang (punk), Mamiffer (metal), and Eleventh Dream Day (alternative) released albums. Give the Drummer Some, Michel Poiccard, Several Shades of Why, Dancing Backwards In High Heels, Endgame, This Is Only A Test, World War Fun, Mare Decendrii, and Riot Now!  On March 22; Green Day (punk), Soundgarden (grunge), Yellowcard (alternative), and Panic! At the Disco (alternative) released albums. Awesome As F**k [LIVE], Live On I5, When You’re Though Thinking Say Yes, and Vices and Virtues. Becoming the Archetype (Christian death metal), Bibio (experimental), Hunx and His Punx (punk) [Lead Singer to GRAVY TRAIN!!!], Emery (melodic hardcore), and Erland and the Carnival (punk) released albums. Celestial Completion, Mind Bokeh, Too Young to Be In Love, We Do What We Want, and Nightingale.

    There are also concerts coming to the area including the big one, ROCKLAHOMA! Here are concert dates from May 3 to June 7, and also the dates and band list for ROCKLAHOMA.
